The National Memorial and all the shaheed miners were covered with flowers The national flag was hoisted . Seminars and meetings were held on the importance of the day . Yesterday was a public holiday . Radio and B.T.V telecast special programmes on the day . The national dailies brought out special supplements to mark the day . The President and the Prime Minister gave separate messages for the nation on the occasion .
